Maryland Wing Flight Scholarships

Maryland Wing has allocated funding for cadet flight training leading to an FAA private pilot certificate. These funds will be used to defray the costs for cadets receiving flight training in CAP aircraft. The Wing Commander will determine the distribution of the funds and the number of scholarships awarded based on applications received. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, cadets must

  1. have earned the Billy Mitchell Award,
  2. have earned their Solo Wings through MD Wing Solo School, National Flight Academy, or any other method,
  3. have not received or been selected for a similar scholarship or grant.

Maryland Wing Solo School Scholarships

An applicant will be selected to receive the Aaron Charles Joslin Memorial Flight Scholarship. This scholarship is available for one cadet and provides the full $600.00 fee for participation in the Solo School. Applicants must be accepted to Solo School and selection is based on final results of the interview process.

Those who successfully complete the Solo Program will be eligible to apply for the Maryland Wing Scholarship to obtain your Private Pilots License. This selection will take place after the Solo School and requires a separate application process. Details on this process will be given at the conclusion of the solo school.

Maryland Wing Cadet Advisory Council Scholarships

The Maryland Wing CAC has approved scholarships for two Maryland Wing cadets that were the highest ranked during the National Cadet Special Activities review process. Each of these cadets are awarded $150 to be applied to their NCSA.
