Baltimore, MD—Civil Air Patrol national commander Maj. Gen. Amy S. Courter, CAP, has requested support in gaining cosponsors for legislation in the House and Senate which will award a single Congressional Gold Medal in honor of Civil Air Patrol’s World War II volunteer members.
Colorado Springs, CO—Twenty-four cadets from across the nation learned about space careers at the Air Force Space Command Familiarization course held at Peterson Air Force Base, Co., during July. During their stay in Colorado the cadets got to experience day-to-day operations of the Air Force Space Command and military installations.

Reisterstown, MD—Civil Air Patrol members recently completed the 2010 Tri-Wing Encampment, held July 18-25 at Camp Fretterd Military Reservation in Reisterstown, Md. Hosted by the Maryland, Delaware, and National Capital Wings, nearly 240 staff and cadet basics from all three CAP wings came together to train.
